Pleasure to meet you!

Hi, I'm Laura Ainscough (MSc. Reg.Psych.).
My mission is to bring fresh insight to your decision-making and to help you access new ways of looking at things.
Coaching consultations are not about me or my life path, however.
It's all about you.
This being said, it is only natural that you want to be sure I am a
3D human being, equipped with a real-world toolkit of experience, methodology, and learning. So let's give you some starting point anchors on that.

Many people wonder why a Registered Psychologist would specialize in life coaching for high-functioning individuals.
The simple answer is because my outlook isn't confined or conventional.
Extensively trained in psychology, business, and leadership, I have chosen coaching as a career because it keeps me on my toes across all domains and the impact on real-people with real wishes is hugely rewarding.
I first became a psychologist over 20 years ago because I was fundamentally interested in helping people. I had intensive training in psychotherapy and counseling, across different modalities and techniques, and soon realised how much difference there was between practitioners . There are huge disparities in the services on offer and this was, in itself, motivating for me. I chose a clinical pathway in which my work was held accountable to a supervisor and group review, so it could be scrutinised and rigorously grounded in best practice. As you can imagine, it was not a popular choice at the time. Most people preferred the safety of books and academia, but I am intensely grateful that my most formative skills were built with real people in real situations....
My current role is as a coach, which enables me to draw on a large toolkit of resources - so I have total flexibility to respond effectively to the needs of my clients. Mental health has a huge influence in our ability to show up in the world, and conversely business is rarely only about objects and numbers. Our inner dialogue and relationships with people often drive outcomes, tangibles, and an overarching sense of satisfaction or success.
